It's here! The not that anticipated Goblin Blog

Hello! I’m Joey. For those who don’t know me, I’m a game store owner in Manhattan, Kansas. I have been a Magic player since 2000 and a store owner since 2015. I love Dungeons and Dragons, board games, and the Pokemon video games, but my nerdy main will always be Magic: the Gathering. My love of Magic and the community has steeped me in almost every aspect it has to offer. I have played Magic at a middle school lunch table. I have played competitive paper Vintage. I built my first commander deck when it was still EDH. I am a Level 2 Magic Judge. I have beaten Shandalar. I have a personal goal to get to play Magic at the highest competitive level. 

This blog will be a place for the Goblin staff to write up about anything related to the shop. This world has been turned on it’s head this year but there are some silver linings for our store when you look close enough. We have an Ecom website that we would never have gotten around to pushing live without the shut down. We are doing multiple weekly twitch streams, another thing lots of players have asked for but under normal circumstances just gets put on the back burner. 

Anne (My wife and Co-Owner) and I have had this blog bouncing around in our heads for a very long time and without the adjusted business model, I don’t know that it would have ever come to fruition. 

Gaming in general has always given me a sense of community and I can’t imagine a better way to pass the time. This world is changing in a lot of ways and we will change with it.  In store play might not look the same for the foreseeable future but know that Goblin Games will be here.
